Now that I am retired from a busy career in finance, I enjoy having the time to exercise my creativity through painting. My favourite subjects are flowers, still lifes, animals and people but I always enjoy trying to paint new subjects and experimenting with new techniques. The joys of plein air painting to me are the opportunity to visit many beautiful places that I would not normally be able to see and to enjoy a sunny summer day painting outside in the company of like-minded artists. I have been painting in watercolour for several years and have recently discovered the joy of painting in oils. I love the vibrancy of colours and the texture that I can achieve with oils.
