Marilyn is a London-based illustrator, visual artist and art educator. Art has been a lifelong passion for her and motivated her to an education and career in the field. She's retired from teaching Illustration, Drawing and Visual Art & Design at Fanshawe College so even though she has been drawing and painting all her life, she can now devote more time to it, playing with paint, travelling and designing her Marigold greeting cards.
Marilyn's subjects of figures and landscapes are inspired by local surroundings, interesting people and travels. She paints to engage the viewer with colour, shapes, lines and light's negative and positive spaces. Drawing from observation is the best way to develop skills along with experimenting and practise. Being part of the Gallery Painting Group is a social and fun way to plein air paint with artist friends.....win win.
Marilyn still teaches for the London Arts Council, the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame and conducts workshops at her studio on her non-painting days so contact her if you want to learn how to draw or paint on a one-to-one or group basis or to give a painting lesson as a gift.
